The Turkish Ministry of Defence announced that the bodies of Libya's Chief of Staff, Lt‑General Mohammed Haddad, and his companions, who died in a plane crash near Ankara, will be returned to the country on Saturday.
The crash occurred when a Falcon‑50 aircraft was less than forty minutes from take‑off, carrying the Chief of Staff and several crew members. Turkish authorities said the aircraft suffered an electrical failure that caused the accident, and the black box was found on farmland near the crash site.
Turkish Defence Minister, İbrahim Kalın, tweeted on X that he will participate in a brief mourning ceremony at the Murtid Air Base near Ankara.
