In Tripoli, a memorial ceremony was held for the Chief of Staff Mohammed al‑Haddad and his companions, who died in a plane crash near Ankara.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the bodies were transported to Tripoli after DNA tests conducted in Turkey matched the victims' samples with those of relatives.
President of the Presidential Council Mohammed Munfi attended the ceremony with Prime Minister Abdulhamid Debeb, Chief of Staff Salahuddin Nimroush, and several ministers and officials.
As the highest commander, Munfi announced the promotion of Mohammed al‑Haddad to General‑Admiral and raised his aides to higher ranks, stressing that the tragedy "belongs to all of Libya, not just the families or the army".
Prime Minister Debeb said that their loyalty to the fallen "must be shown through action, continuing the path we drew together to build a unified professional army founded on law and discipline, a solid institution based on national values, not individuals".
