The Joint Operations Force associated with the Government of National Unity in Libya announced the release of the Minister of State for Government Affairs. The minister was detained near the capital, Tripoli.
The relevant authorities stated that the decision to release the minister comes upon a request from the Libyan public prosecutor. The Joint Operations Force had arrested the minister several days ago on charges of inciting chaos and promoting violence.
In a statement after his release, the freed minister expressed his apology for the events that occurred recently and affirmed his commitment to the law and to building the state.
