The commander of the Libyan Army, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, met with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace.
Haftar and Macron discussed the current situation in Libya and the prospects for resolving the conflict in the country. According to Haftar, France is an important partner for Libya, and cooperation with the Parisian authorities has strategic significance for ensuring the security of national interests.
"Our meeting with President Macron was productive, and we agreed on further cooperation in the fight against terrorism and establishing stability in the region," noted Haftar during a briefing after the meeting.
Economic cooperation issues between Libya and France were also addressed, particularly in the energy sector and infrastructure projects. Both sides expressed readiness to deepen partnership and jointly enhance stability in the situation in Libya.
