The Government of the National Unity of Libya declared in a statement that it rejects the use of Libyan territory as a base for acts against other states. This statement was made after Turkish media reported that the United States had requested to use the Al-Witiya airbase in western Libya for operations against terrorists in Africa.
In connection with this, the head of the Government of National Unity of Libya, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, met with the US ambassador in Libya and conveyed to him a decisive rejection of the use of Libyan territory for aggression or violations of the sovereignty of other states.
"Libya does not grant permission to use its territory for aggressive actions against other countries," Dbeibah emphasized.
